My Three Simple Steps Beginning
A few months back, I heard Trevor Blake on John Lee Dumas’ Entrepreneur On Fire podcast. He spoke of his book “Three Simple Steps” (affiliate link) and how that process has completely transformed his life. He told of growing up dirt poor in Wales and how bullying forced him into the library after school. There, he read and absorbed the biographies of famous people like Henry Ford, Andrew Carnegie, Abraham Lincoln and about 200 others! He started seeing patterns in these peoples belief systems and accomplishments. At about the same time, his mother was diagnosed with cancer and given less than six months to live. He tells how she “decided” that just wasn’t long enough to see her children grown and gone so she wouldn’t have any of it.
It was through his self-education, his mother’s “knowing” she wasn’t going anywhere and his father’s non-stop smoking that he came up with his Three Simple Steps program. He has used this program to grow and sell two companies for over 400 million dollars. He has been teaching the program for a long time and he’s very passionate about impacting peoples’ lives with it.
I bought the book shortly after hearing this podcast and tried to work it into my other reading and studying. I finally got to a point where I grasped just how life changing this could be and I made it a point to finish the book and start working on each principal.
Let me give you a short synopsis of the three steps.
Framework Of Program
Step One-Mentality Shield
This is about ending the negative influences that sap your creativity and keep you from success. They include: controlling your inner dialogue and not letting your ego talk you out of things; reducing or eliminating the negative influence of the media; either keeping away from or not letting negative people influence your mindset.
Step Two-Taking Quiet Time
Trevor has devised a form of meditation that helps you to open and relax your mind so that you can generate a ton of creative ideas. It creates new neurons that are ready to be put to use to create a life of awe and purpose.
Step Three-Setting Intentions
Here’s where the magic really happens! After you’ve worked to reduce your negative influences and self-talk and learned and practiced the meditation technique, then you’re ready to do the Ecstasy Exercise, figure out what really makes you awestruck and then set intentions that support that.
If all of this sounds too easy, it’s not and Trevor makes that abundantly clear. He’s happy to explain that “simple” does not mean “easy”.
I will be blogging off and on about my experience with Three Simple Steps but let me begin by saying I am NOT a master at this process and you will see a LOT of stumbles along my path. My hope is that it will help you decide to take action and see if it’s right for you.
Coming up next: My First Three Simple Steps Breakthrough
Until then, please let me know if you have any experience with Trevor’s program so we can compare notes. I’ve already participated in his Magical Practice of Intentions course that was hosted by The Intelligent Optimist. I’m learning a lot and getting some of the concepts clearer but this is, as Trevor says, a bit like drinking from a firehose. Especially at first!
Until next time,
PS-Thanks to Trevor for allowing me to use the image of your book!
PSS-Trevor will be teaching the Physics of Success course again starting in August. You can get full details here.
