My zivaMIND Introduction
As many of you already know, I am a daily meditator. I’ve been doing it for over five years. I believe it’s played no small part in me keeping my sanity through some lean times. Last month, I got an email from a functional medicine doctor I follow, Dr. Mark Hyman, speaking about a meditation course he’d completed that really gave him a breakthrough. He’s been a meditator for many years but kind of let it slip by the wayside.
In this email he spoke about how this meditation course, zivaMIND, had improved his sleep, his focus, his productivity and the quality of his relationships. I’ve followed him for a few years and knew he wasn’t one to just endorse anything somebody would pay him to endorse. To have a long time meditator claim a system was able to help him that much made me take a second look.
Time For a Creative Solution
I followed the links to the course’s landing page and learned what I could about it. It seemed like a well put together program that had tons of devoted followers. When I clicked through to the buy page, I saw that it was a little out of my price range right now. Still, I decided I wanted to do it and looked for creative solutions.
Having done product reviews many times over the years for various sites, I knew there might be a way to gain entrance into the program in exchange for a review. I did a little research and finally contacted the zivaMIND team to see what we could work out.
As it turned out, zivaMIND has a “scholarship” program that allows people to submit a short video explaining what they hope to gain from the program. The email I got explained what I needed to do to be considered. I shot a quick two minute video explaining what I hoped to gain from the training and submitted the link to them.
Within a couple of days, I received a confirmation email telling me I had been accepted into the program with my login credentials. I was thrilled. The coolest part was that even though I had mentioned doing a review they made it clear that was NOT a condition of acceptance into the program. They said if I completed the training and it did really help me, they would appreciate a review. NOT “we’ll be expecting your review posted by this date” or anything like that. I thought that was really cool!
So, I got in and did the training which ran from October 1-8 with daily playbacks available. I made sure that I made the most of everything made available to me.
I will be reviewing my progress with the course in an upcoming blog post. I want to let the program get a chance to settle in so I can give it a full once over. I just wanted to let you know it’s coming.
Just to be absolutely clear: I received a complimentary pass into the program in exchange for a review. However, I should also note they are NOT putting any pressure on me to say anything specific or to even do a review unless I’m happy with it. I’m saying this just so you know that I would NEVER agree to take a course in exchange for a specific review rating. I will tell you honestly what I liked, what I didn’t and how it has or hasn’t changed my life. Enough said.
I look forward to telling you about this program so you can see if it might be a fit for you.
Wishing you success!
